Most Liked

The chips at Church St. Chippy are legendary; golden and crispy, they draw compliments from everyone who tries them. The cult favorite gravy drizzled over the chips takes the dish to a new level and has patrons raving about their experience. Reviewers consistently highlight the warm and welcoming service provided by the owners, further enhancing the comfort that comes with dining here. The affordable pricing, with most meals around £5.20, makes it an attractive option for those looking for satisfying yet budget-friendly meals. The pies—steak and kidney, beef and onion, and chicken—are perfect for a filler meal, making it easy to see why this chippy is regarded as the best in Accrington. Families appreciate the child-friendly atmosphere, allowing even the youngest diners to enjoy a meal in peace.

Most Disliked

Some patrons express disappointment regarding the lack of weekend openings, as they wish to indulge in the delightful offerings but find it challenging to visit during weekdays. The limited seating may lead to longer waiting times during busy lunch hours, which can be frustrating for those in a rush. Although food quality is consistently highlighted, a few customers have noted occasional inconsistencies with the crunchiness of the fish batter. Additionally, those familiar with more diverse menu options may find the limited variety somewhat restrictive, though the focus remains on quality rather than quantity. Regardless, the overall experience continues to outweigh these small concerns.

Love this chippy. Went to it when I was younger and hasn't changed a bit. The same lovely owners and the best chips and Holland's pies. The decor is still the old retro decor too which people try to replicate in London all the time

Oh my gosh. What a place. Under a strangely named awning that doesn't imply it's a chippy. The best chips I've ever had. And I've had a lot. Utterly delicious.
